General Assembly Convenes Today
The 2006 General Assembly Session kicks off today. The Chamber’s top priorities for the next 90 days include:
- Sustaining the Governor’s vetoes of the Fair Share Health Care Fund Act and the minimum wage bill.
- Improving the State’s current market-based health insurance system to control costs, increase competition and provide customer choice.
- Keeping Maryland’s state and local regulatory and tax structure competitive to encourage businesses to retain and locate jobs, invest and do business in Maryland.
- Defend the free market against continued assaults by legislation that would substitute the mandate of government for the judgment of the marketplace.
