Today's Washington Post Editorial
An editorial in today’s Washington Post makes a really well reasoned case for sustaining the Governor’s veto of the “Fair Share” bill.
This is the second time a Post editorial has addressed the topic. Editorials in the Baltimore Sun and Washington Times have also painted the “Fair Share” bill as bad public policy. But, as I type this the Maryland Senate is debating whether or not to override the Governor’s veto, and the House of Delegates is expected to consider the override tonight or tomorrow. Hopefully, recent predictions in the same papers are incorrect, and the legislature will sustain the veto. If not, the enactment of this law would draw nationwide negative attention on Maryland’s business climate.
Rest assured that the moment I can get my hands on the roll calls votes, I will post them on the Chamber website so you can see how your legislators voted.
