Minimum Wage Indexing Bill Has Slim Chance of Passage

Yesterday, I mentioned the bill hearing on the minimum wage indexing bill, HB 1142. Today’s Daily Record features a story that indicates that the bill’s chances of passage are slim.

House Economic Matters Committee Chairman Del. Dereck Davis said, “There has to be an acknowledgement to the political reality. And after the very difficult debate over increasing the minimum wage last year, it’s not realistic to think we can come back the very next year and pass a bill that’s even more aggressive.”
