The "Son of Wal-Mart" Bill Voted Down in Committee

The House Health and Government Operations Committee today voted to kill HB 1510, Public-Private Partnership for Health Coverage for All Marylanders. This is the legislation that would have applied the “Wal-Mart bill” payroll tax to all employers in Maryland with less than 10,000 employees at 4.5 percent of payroll (3 percent for non-profits).
