Poll Shows Ehrlich Trailing O’Malley
A new Washington Post poll shows Governor Robert L. Ehrlich, Jr. trailing Baltimore City Mayor Martin O’Malley by 11 points among registered voters and 16 points among those who say they are “absolutely certain” to vote in the Nov. 7 election. Story | Poll

Stuart Simms, Doug Duncan’s former running-mate and former Baltimore City State’s Attorney, is set to announce that he will run for Attorney General, joining a democratic primary field that includes Montgomery County State’s Attorney Doug Gansler and Montgomery County Councilman Tom Perez. More

In this story, the Cumberland Times-News takes a look at candidates who have filed to date. Del. George Edwards is the only candidate running for the Senate seat being vacated by Sen. John Hafer. Six are running for the House seat Edwards is vacating (Dist 1A), including Wendell Beitzel and Bill Aiken of Accident, DeCorsey Emroy Bolden, Dave Moe and Jay Moyer of Oakland, and Brenda Butscher of Mountain Lake Park. All candidates, with the exception of Aiken, a Democrat, are Republicans. In Dist. 1B, Del. Kevin Kelly, a Democrat, is being challenged by Republican Mark Fisher. In Dist. 1C, Republican Del.
