Workplace Voter Education

Regardless of your industry, size or location, decisions made in Annapolis affect your business. A strong business climate has a positive impact on economic expansion and job growth, but it also plays a role in helping to strengthen communities and improve the overall quality of life.

With that in mind, the Maryland Chamber is making it easy for your company to provide your employees with useful, nonpartisan information to help them make informed election year decisions, including:

  • Voter registration and absentee ballot request forms.
  • Zip code-to-district matching to connect them to information about their legislators and candidates.
  • Handouts outlining key business issues.
  • Candidate profiles and voting history.
  • Election year news.
  • Links to other pertinent election resources.

The Chamber has launched it’s voter education website located at www.MDVoteForBusiness.com. This site will match visitors to a listing of their candidates. We’re posting candidate responses to our business issue questionnaire (we’ve already posted more than 150 responses and we’re posting more every day). For incumbent candidates, the site will also feature a link to their voting records on the Chamber’s key bills from the past two legislative sessions.

In the “Campaigns and Elections” section, you’ll also find voter registration information, information about early voting and absentee ballots, and other election year resources.

Your company can participate in MDVoteForBusiness at a level that best meets your needs. You can link to www.MDVoteForBusiness.com from your website. We can work with you to develop a custom MDVoteForBusiness site for your organization. The Chamber can also supply you with handouts to distribute to your employees and a workplace poster reminding them to vote on November 7.

The best part is that it’s free for Chamber members. For more informaiton contact Will Burns at (410) 269-0642, (301) 261-2858 or wburns@mdchamber.org.
