California Car Bills to be Heard Today

The Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee will hold a hearing on clean car legislation (SB 51 and SB 103) today at 2 p.m. I posted some details, courtesy of the Maryland Automobile Dealers Association, earlier this week.

The Chamber opposes the bills because Maryland would be better suited continuing to follow the federal Tier 2 Program, created as the result of a collaborative effort by the Environmental Protection Agency, automobile manufacturers, oil companies, states, public health, environmental organizations, and others. Chamber Vice President of Government Affairs Heather Hamilton will present testimony on behalf of the Chamber.

Here is a pdf version of the Chamber’s position statement.
