King Picked for Hogan's Vacant Senate Seat

The Gazette reports that the Montgomery County Democratic Central Committee has nominated Del. Nancy J. King (D-Dist. 39) to fill the Senate seat vacated by Sen. P.J. Hogan, who left the Senate to join the University System of Maryland as Associate Vice Chancellor for Government Relations. Governor O’Malley now has 15 days to appoint her to the seat.

The Central Committee must know select a successor to King in the House of Delegates and also a successor to Del. Marilyn Goldwater (D-Dist. 16), who resigned last week.
