Governor O'Malley Introduces Slots Plan

Governor Martin O’Malley today released some preliminary details about his slots proposal.

The Maryland Chamber applauds the Governor for including a slots proposal as part of his plan to deal with the State’s budget deficit. The Maryland Chamber of Commerce continues to support carefully regulated slot machines in limited locations to fund public education.

Marylanders are spending millions of dollars each year on this on slot machine gaming outside the State. Maryland should take immediate action to keep this revenue in state to help alleviate the economic burden that would otherwise be placed on Maryland’s businesses and taxpayers.
