Small Employer Health Subsidy Detailed
The Maryland Health Care Commission met last Friday with representatives from business organizations to offer more details on the rollout this fall of the small employer health insurance subsidy. The Maryland Chamber’s Vice President of Government Affairs Ron Wineholt attended the meeting.
The program will provide $15 million in state-funded health insurance subsidies to employers with 2 to 9 employees that have not offered health insurance to their employees in the previous 12 months. Participating businesses must have an average wage for full time employees of less than $50,000. The Commission will sponsor a series of regional workshops on the program in late August.
