MHCC to Hold Small Business Subsidy Informational Meetings
The Maryland Health Care Commission (MHCC) is holding a series of meetings across the State to provide information about the Health Insurance Partnership to small business owners that may be eligible.
Through the Health Insurance Partnership, businesses may be eligible for a health insurance premium subsidy of up to 50 percent if it has 9 or fewer employees, its employees have an average annual wage under $50,000, and it has not offered group health insurance to them in the last 12 months.
The meetings will also offer information on the benefits of and steps to establish a Section 125 premium conversion plan. These plans allow employee premium contributions to be made on a pre-tax basis and are required to participate in the Health Insurance Partnership.
